SED 2010 – Announcement
Although, after a challenging 2009 we were all looking forward to 2010 with renewed optimism, we have taken the decision to postpone SED – The National Event for Construction, until 17, 18 and 19 May 2011, from which point it will continue to run as an annual event.
When speaking with many of you, the consensus seemed to be that, although an improvement is expected around April 2010, a significant, established upturn would not be seen until the end of the year. This obviously means that, although construction is recovering, marketing budget would still need to be managed tightly. Also, and significantly, 2010 unexpectedly became a three-event year as a result of Hillhead’s postponement from 2009. We know that for those of you who already have a commitment to Bauma or Hillhead, a year’s grace from SED will most certainly relieve pressure on your 2010 promotional budgets.
In turn, a year’s break for us means that we can work harder and longer on our new show plans and initiatives, which we are confident will be far better received in 2011 when the industry outlook becomes more stable.
Meanwhile, the rest of our product offerings, including SED 365, SED Data, SED Quotes and our new magazine, Site Equipment Manager, are still here to provide leads and support your sales and marketing activities throughout the year.
